nursing care. Selected centers offer rehabilitative services including physical,
respiratory and occupational therapy and speech-language pathology. Individual
assistance with activities of daily living, individualized nutritional services
and rehabilitation programs that assist individuals to return to home, or to
regain a level of independence.
Intermediate Care Facilities for the Mentally
Retarded (ICF/MR) provide:
24-hour nursing care with comprehensive psycho-social
services. Therapeutic intervention and remedial education. A homelike setting
with medium to high intensity level of services.
Nursing Facilities for Mental Health
(NF/MH)provide:
24-hour nursing care with therapeutic intervention.
Classes in cooking, nutrition and laundry are offered for transitioning to more
independent living. A homelike setting.
Assisted Living/Residential Health Care
Facilities (AL/RHC) which requires private funds for payment
provide:
Nursing services available with assistance with
activities of daily living. Individualized nutritional services. 24-hour
security and on-site staff response to emergencies. Housekeeping, laundry
services, social and recreational programs available.
