Course Information:
Nursing interventions that can promote your residents ability to live as independently as possible is our priority as a restorative team. This one day session will focus on the details of your role and how to best accomplish restorative nursing tasks with your residents.
Who Should Attend:
Anyone involved in the Restorative Nursing programs in Long Term Care Communities.
8:30 a.m. – Doors open to RSCK/Registration
9:00-9:50 a.m. – General Overview of Restorative Nursing including Regulations, The impact of Restorative on PDPM Reimbursement, Types, Job Descriptions and Medical Terminology (1.0 Contact Hour)
9:50-10:00 a.m. – Break
10:00-11:50 a.m. – Bowel and/or bladder Retraining Program. Eating and Swallowing/ Restorative Dining (2.0 Contact Hours)
11:50-12:50 p.m. – Lunch Provided
12:50-2:15 p.m. – Communication Cognition; Splint and Brace Assistance, Dressing and Grooming (1.5 Contact Hours)
2:15-2:30 p.m. – Break
2:30-3:45 p.m. – Dressing and Grooming Training, Passive and Active ROM; Amputation/Prosthetic Care (1.5 contact Hours)
3:45-4:35 p.m. – Bed Mobility, Transfer and Ambulation Training (1.0 Contact Hours)

Continuing Education Credit:
Administrators – This course is approved for seven (7.0) continuing education clock hours for Adult Care Home Administrators by the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) HOC Long-Term Sponsorship number: LTS-A0001.
Operators – This course is approved for seven (7.0) continuing education clock hours for Adult Care Home Operators in the core area of Resident Care by the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) HOC Long-Term Sponsorship number: LTS-A0001.
Nurses – The Kansas Health Care Association is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. This offering is approved for seven (7.0) contact hours applicable for RN and LPN re-licensure. (KSBN LT0030-0338).
Social Workers – This course offering is approved for seven (7.0) continuing education hours. KHCA is an approved provider of education for social workers through the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. (KSBSB 17-006).
Attendance Certificates will be available for all other attendees. Consult your licensing board or certifying agency for approval.
