Course Description:
This 2-hour webinar will provide an in-depth review of the significant revisions to the LTC survey process released on November 18, 2024 as QSO-25-07-NH. Attendees will gain insights into these updates, explore available training and resources, and identify key readiness considerations to ensure compliance before the changes take effect on March 24, 2025.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify key revisions in the LTC surveyor guidance, including changes related to admission, transfer & discharge, chemical restraints, resident assessment, QAPI, infection control, and other areas.
2. Understand the rationale behind CMS’s updates and their implications for compliance and quality of care.
3. Apply best practices for preparing for surveys under the revised guidance, including strategies for documentation, staff training, and QAPI integration.
4. Evaluate the impact of revised surveyor pathways, including updates to Critical Element Pathways and Appendix PP.
5. Develop action steps to align facility policies and procedures with the new survey requirements before the effective date.
