Assisted Living & Home Plus Lunch and Learn:
A Deeper Look at FCS, NSA, and HSP
December 1, 2025 | Overland Park, KS
The Functional Capacity Screen (FCS) may look simple—but completing it accurately can be anything but. In this interactive Lunch and Learn, you’ll learn how to correctly complete an FCS, identify and work through common gray areas, and document your findings with confidence.
Once you’ve mastered the FCS, we’ll move on to the Negotiated Service Agreement (NSA) and Health Services Plan (HSP). With a completed sample FCS in hand, Joan Hudson, RN-BC, LNHA, will guide you through how to incorporate resident preferences and assessment findings into a thorough NSA that accurately captures billable services.
Joan will also discuss how and when to use Negotiated Risk Agreements and NSA Addendums—and share practical tips for documenting them effectively. Finally, you’ll take what you’ve developed and use it to build a clear, actionable HSP that communicates your negotiated services to direct care staff.
This workshop is ideal for Operators and Nurses who want to work together to ensure they’re aligned and meeting KDADS requirements for all State Licensed Only settings, including Home Plus.
Learning Objectives:
