Leadership Forward: Building Stronger LTC Leaders
Today’s long-term care leaders face increasing demands, staffing challenges, and emotional strain — making strong, people-centered leadership more essential than ever. This leadership training is designed specifically for LTC Department Heads who want to strengthen their personal effectiveness, elevate team engagement, and build a culture rooted in trust, accountability, and connection.
This program facilitated by Spencer Morris, LNHA focuses on the core skills of emotional intelligence (EQ), communication, connection, and everyday leadership. Participants will explore how self-awareness, emotional regulation, and purposeful communication directly impact morale, performance, and resident outcomes. The 1-day course will allow leaders to gain strategies they can immediately apply within their teams.
Key areas of focus include:
- Personal Effectiveness & Emotional Intelligence: Building self-awareness, managing stress responses, and aligning actions with values to lead with clarity and confidence.
- Connection & Communication: Strengthening relationships through presence, empathy, active listening, and meaningful everyday interactions.
- Inspiring Engagement: Reframing leadership as influence, fostering ownership, and moving teams beyond compliance to true engagement.
- Everyday Leadership in Action: Modeling accountability, integrity, and purpose while navigating challenges with emotional intelligence.
- FeedForward & Feedback Culture: Learning how to give and receive feedback in ways that promote growth, trust, and continuous improvement.
