This program has been specifically created for Nurses that are new to the Director of Nursing Position and RN’s with the potential for serving in the DON position in Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing facilities.  This program also serves as a refresher for those who want to brush up to make sure they are up to date on the most current information.  Linda Farrar, RN, LNHA will facilitate the course and the panel of speakers are beyond AMAZING.  You’ll hear from experienced nurses, along with other presenters that are wonderful at what they do and hold a wealth of knowledge they are willing to share. Seating is limited.  Register early to assure you have a seat for the KHCA and LICA MedMan DON Boot Camp!

Leadership & Management, Policies & Procedures, Care Plans, Using Interact, QAPI, Taking Care of Yourself, Person Centered Care; What it really looks like, Staffing & Scheduling Headaches, Survey Preparedness, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation, Budgeting & Financials, Building an effective toileting program, Fall Prevention, Investigations/Protocols, MDS & Care Plans for DON’S, Medicare & Medicaid, Behavioral Health, Palliative Care, DON & ADM, Relationship, Restorative Programming, Dementia Care, Staff Stability, Customer Satisfaction, Skin/Wound Care, Medication Monitoring, Pain Management, Sleep Hygiene, Abuse Investigations, Staff Retention, Building Systems, Phase 3 RoP.

Coffee and Break snacks will be provided.  Lunch is on your own.

Administrators:  This course is approved for twenty seven (27.0) continuing education credit hours for adult care home Administrators who attend the entire course.  Approval by KDADS Health Occupations Credentialing approved sponsorship number LTS-A0001.

Operators:  This course is approved for twenty seven (27.0) continuing education credit hours for adult care home Operators who attend the entire course.  Operators will be granted 10.0 hours in the core area of Administration and 17.0 hours in the core area of Resident Care by the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services.  KDADS Health Occupations Credentialing approved sponsorship number LTS-A0001.

Nurses:  The Kansas Health Care Association is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.  This course offering is approved for twenty seven (27.0) contact hours applicable for RN and LPN relicensure.  Kansas State Board of Nursing Approved Provider Number:  LT0030-0338.
